How much weight will I lose after my liposuction?

Liposuction is not a weight loss program!

This procedure is used to improve the shape and redefine the contours of the body.

Is it painful?

Dr. mezhoud ensures that the liposuction takes place almost without pain.

Liposuction has the false reputation of being a rather painful surgery, which is not true.

Thanks to the Tumescent technique used by Dr. mezhoud over the operated areas, you will feel minimal pain.

In general, you will have little discomfort during the postoperative period.

Will I have to be put to sleep under general anesthesia?

No.
Dr. Sami mezhoud uses local anesthesia with sedation for your liposuction.

This type of anesthesia is highly appreciated by the vast majority of our patients who undergo liposuction 'fat suction', performed by Dr. mezhoud, in our surgery clinic in Montreal.

Will I have to return to the clinic to get my stitches taken out after my liposuction?

No.
Dr. Sami mezhoud uses "absorbable stitches" that will disintegrate by themselves!

Will I have bruises, discoloration or swelling after my liposuction?

Generally, with the liposuction technique used by Dr. mezhoud, the swelling and bruises are not too visible.

What is the recovery time?

After your liposuction, you will need to wear an elastic bandage in order to support the operated regions.

During the first 24 postoperative hours, there will be drainage of a pinkish fluid through the incisions. This is normal.

You will have some discomfort, bruising and swelling that may bother you for a few weeks.

The swelling will dissipate slowly and the final result will be visible after 6 to 12 months.

Can the suctioned fat come back if I do not pay attention to my figure?

We are born with a specific amount of fat cells that remains almost the same throughout our lives. This amount varies from one person to another.

During a weight gain, the fat cells do not multiply, they swell!

During weight loss, these cells shrink ... but their total number remains the same.

With the liposuction, Dr. mezhoud removes the fat cells from places of fat deposits.

However, this does not prevent the surviving cells that are left behind from swelling again during any future weight gain. In such a case, however, this weight gain will be distributed in a more proportional way throughout the body.

Does liposuction leaves scars?

Dr. mezhoud makes 2 or 3 small incisions of just one centimeter each around every operated region.

It is during surgery that he can determine the ideal position for each incision.

These incisions usually heal well.

When can I go back to work?

Generally, you will be able to resume your work one or two weeks after your liposuction.

Can I exercise after my liposuction?

You can resume exercising three to four weeks after your liposuction.

Are there possible complications related to the liposuction surgery?

Although they are possible, the following complications are not common: bleeding, excessive scarring, infection, skin irregularities, changes in sensitivity, etc.
